the tillerman is an inn, restaurant and events space located just outside the vibrant town of bristol, vermont. we work on a historic property that dates back to the late 1700's. our vibe is old new england meets northern california meets a flower market meets a farmers market meets a warm vibrant community. wool, wood, leather, copper, natural fibers and rich colors are the look. palo santo, pine, and wild sage is our smell.

our food is impeccably sourced from local farms, producers, vendors, makers and ranchers. we are entirely committed to quality and keeping our food simple, rustic served in a family style format. eating at the tillerman is like going to a dinner party at your friend's house who also happens to be the best cook and host you know. when folks leave here they feel like they have not only had a beautiful meal but also an experience that feeds the soul.

we are currently hiring the following positions:

event staff

we’re looking for someone to join our team-oriented staff at the tillerman. our event staff members play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering high quality experiences to those who join us for events on the property.

tasks & responsibilities:

  • providing warm, friendly service from greeting through farewell

  • moving chairs, tables and other furniture based on event layout

  • delivering food and beverages, clearing event spaces

  • communicating clearly with management to support smooth service

requirements:

  • strong work ethic and good time-management skills

  • catering experience preferred

  • strong multitasking skills and ability to work efficiently while remaining friendly and patient with guests

  • must be able to work saturdays

  • positive attitude and ability to work well in a supportive, team-focused environment

  • must be able to lift 50lbs

hours & compensation:

  • start date: 8/1/26

  • saturdays ONLY, with option to work wednesdays for our live music event

  • noon- close (10:30/11:30pm)

  • pay: $7.21 (plus tips) or $50 an hour based on event type
