the tillerman inn is located in bristol, vermont, nestled in the foothills of the green mountains. we’re just minutes from the charming village center and a short drive to middlebury, lincoln, and some of vermont’s most scenic trails and farms.

we offer a warm, thoughtfully designed inn experience with a locally sourced breakfast, cozy rooms, beautiful surroundings and easy access to nearby hiking, cycling, and seasonal activities. guests love our balance of rustic charm and modern comfort.

what types of rooms are available at the tillerman inn?
we offer 7 inviting guest rooms, each with their own personality. rooms feature comfy beds with organic luxury mattresses, private bathrooms, unique art, and scenic views. some may include fireplaces or reading nooks.

is breakfast included with my stay?
yes! a light homemade breakfast is served each morning, showcasing seasonal vermont ingredients, fresh pastries, and locally roasted coffee.

do you offer free parking and wi-fi?
yes, we provide free off-street parking and complimentary wi-fi for all guests.

are pets allowed?
we love pets, but unfortunately, we do not allow them at the inn to ensure a calm and allergy-friendly experience for all guests. exceptions are made for service animals upon request.

does the tillerman inn host events?

hiking, biking, and skiing are all within reach! explore bristol cliffs wilderness, mount abraham, the long trail, or enjoy kayaking on nearby rivers. we’re happy to help with trail suggestions and seasonal tips.

is the tillerman inn close to middlebury or burlington?
yes, we’re just 20 minutes from middlebury and about 45 minutes from burlington, making us a peaceful hub for exploring central vermont.

can i walk to restaurants or shops in town?
nope… you’ll need a car! downtown bristol is about a 5-minute drive. you’ll find a charming café, local shops, breweries, locally made products and charming neighborhoods.

yes! our peaceful setting and curated guest experience are ideal for romantic getaways, writers’ retreats, or solo escapes into nature.

do rooms have private bathrooms?
yes, all guest rooms include private en-suite bathrooms with plush, organic cotton towels and toiletries.

what are your check-in and check-out times?
check-in is from 3pm to 5pm, and check-out is by 10am. contact us in advance for early or late arrangements.

do you offer dinner?

we don’t offer lunch, but there are a few places in downtown bristol offering lunch. we love and recommend minifactory! middlebury also, vergennes and other surrounding towns have options as well. we’ve listed places for lunch or coffee on this page.
