weddings

we like to think we have an incredibly special place to host a wedding…

one of our favorite things about the tillerman is all the different little areas there are to explore. meandering the grounds evokes a sense of wonder as you poke around the stone walls, flower gardens, kitchen garden, large boulders, old craggy trees and of course, the path to the babbling creek. it all makes you feel like a kid again, getting lost in your imagination...

the centerpiece of our venue is a 125-year-old barn surrounded by trees, flowers, and out-buildings, evoking a quintessential rustic vermont feel. if you love to live off the beaten path, be transported to a simpler time, or are inspired by texture and the elements, you might never want to leave!

A cozy bedroom with pink walls, a window showing snow outside, a bed with a floral patterned blanket, a pillow, a bedside table with a green lamp, and a green armchair in the corner.

our inn features 7 comfortable bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, accommodating up to 19 guests. think wood floors, wool rugs, colorful artwork, and heavenly beds in every room. our amenities focus on natural materials and comfort.

our food is impeccably sourced from local farms, producers, vendors, makers, and ranchers. we are entirely committed to quality and we keep our food simple and rustic. dining with us feels like attending a dinner party at a friend’s house who also happens to be the best cook and host you know.

it is hard to sum up how special of a place the tillerman is. we feel so lucky that we were able to have our wedding there and have endless gratitude for the tillerman team for giving us the best weekend of our lives. from our first conversation with kenzie, we immediately felt that this is not your normal wedding venue. jason, kate, kenzie, merel, and the entire tillerman team have created an environment and experience that magically combines unique intentionality with flawless execution. as a couple planning from CA, we felt deeply cared for and we always knew we were in the best hands. we were already in love with the tillerman and their wedding process even before we stepped foot on property. the easiest and best part of the entire planning process was every touchpoint with the tillerman team. menu & beverage planning was a joy and the genuine care for sourcing locally, bringing a unique farm to table experience to guests, and letting couples be creative in crafting their event. merel & kenzie even made custom menu art and the most incredible printed materials for us. jason sourced such a fantastic list of beverages for us and we had the kindest, best bartenders. it is a unique combo to be able to give guests incredible food & bev and an incredible, seamless guest experience and the tillerman cares deeply about both; you can tell it is so woven into their ethos. if i could have kenzie plan & execute every event in my life i would be thrilled. and truly... i cannot tell you how many people came up to us to say that this was the best wedding food they have ever had. it is incredible what chef taylor & the whole team does. in addition to a stunning ceremony location where you can hear the river, to the perfect party barn, to the best accommodations that allowed our families to be together the whole weekend, every nook and cranny at the tillerman is special. our guests loved exploring “the cozy” and sitting by the fire pit and I felt like I would blink and the tillerman had transformed the space and thought of something unique for the guest experience. every photo is stunning because of the natural beauty of the tillerman. we also were able to have an incredible family kick off dinner at the restaurant and we all couldn't get enough of the property. we feel so beyond lucky to have found the tillerman and it will forever be a special place to us. if you are looking for a venue that cares deeply about you as a couple, is the antithesis of a cookie cutter wedding venue, is kind and professional, and goes above & beyond in every aspect, then look no further. we are so grateful for the amount of love and care that was put in by every single person at the tillerman. we can't wait to be back!

the tillerman has a whimsical, cozy, and quaint feel that you can't understand until you've been there. my husband and i had a date night at the tillerman before deciding to make it our wedding venue for our 30-person wedding. our wedding day was MAGICAL and we never wanted to leave the inn. our wedding day was rainy, but mackenzie and her team made sure we got our outdoor " i do's" before taking cover in the barn for the rest of the evening. mackenzie was such a breeze to communicate with leading up to the day and on the day. i am so grateful to have had her involved. i HIGHLY recommend them for your wedding.

my husband and i got married at the tillerman in june and the whole experience was exceptional. the venue itself is lovely, the perfect mix of historical charm and modern updates. what really made the difference though was the amazing staff. kenzie coordinated with us as we were planning the wedding and was so friendly and helpful, and responded to a million emails that i sent her with different questions. the day of, the staff was on top of every detail and served an incredible meal that many guests said was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding, if not the best food they'd had ever! we feel so lucky to have found the tillerman and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a quintessential vermont wedding.

planning our microwedding at the tillerman was such a lovely and low-stress experience, and our wedding day could not have been more perfect. we were able to customize our day to be uniquely ours, without being overwhelmed with choices or having to book extra vendors. the barn at the tillerman is such a beautiful venue for a reception, the fire pit was a huge hit with our guests, and it was so nice to walk back to our room in the inn, exhausted, and fall into the most comfortable bed with lovely linens. we left the menu and dessert menus completely up to the tillerman and were blown away by the quality and quantity of fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented food. we customized our bar offerings, decided on a long family style table set-up, and left the rest up to the tillerman. kenzie was amazing, supportive and prompt in every way, and was how we knew a micro wedding at the tillerman was right for us. we envisioned a romantic and whimsical day of celebration with our closest friends and family and the tillerman delivered, keeping the entire experience stress free and for a very reasonable cost. thank you so much to kenzie, kate and jason, kelsey, and the entire staff at the tillerman for giving us the best wedding day.

if you’re looking for vermont farmhouse wedding vibes with modern decor, beautiful gardens, green spaces, and cozy little nooks, this could be the venue for you. the planning was easy, the tillerman was flexible, and our point people mackenzie and merel were responsive, made excellent suggestions, and worked perfectly with our coordinator to make the day happen, with special touches along the way.

when i think of wedding food, i am often resigned to the reality that the meal will disappear into history as yet another average piece of chicken. but not a damn day goes by that I don’t think about the meal the tillerman kitchen team made for us OUTSIDE over A FIRE. every single bite across the table was a delicious, tasty treat - and i regret only bringing home three containers of leftovers. we care a lot about food, and this food cared back.

my husband (!!) and i are so happy to have found the tillerman to host our wedding.

if you're looking for a venue with a more unique and relaxed vibe than the cookie-cutter status quo, this is it! the tillerman has a cozy and bespoke feel, while offering a gorgeously appointed inn and grounds to wander. big perks included having our immediate families able to stay at the inn with us, the tillerman's ability to coordinate and host our rehearsal/welcome party, reception, and Sunday brunch, and having the food and bar services all in-house was amazing.

more important than any of that, however, is the peace of mind we had knowing that we were in very capable hands. from the early planning stages to the sunday morning send-off brunch, i couldn't have dreamt of a better team to have execute our wedding weekend. the chef served up the wedding food to end all wedding food- his outdoor cooking, seasonal + exciting vegetable dishes, pizza, and straight-up charisma blew everyone away! merel was invaluable in the days leading up to the wedding and throughout the weekend, she managed everything that popped up with ease and was so fun throughout the process!

the tillerman is all about the small, meaningful details which really shone throughout the event. everything felt intentional and well considered, coming together into pure magic. the property itself is beautiful (the creek provides a great photo backdrop!), and reveals many different areas to enjoy which we utilized for our various different wedding festivities. once the sun went down, it was lovely having the bonfires ablaze and sitting around them making memories until the wee hours. our guests constantly remark to us how at ease they felt at the wedding- many of them now planning their own trips to stay at the tillerman. I can't recommend them enough for your special day (or weekend!)
